Tennis & Padel in the Tri-City

If your family already plays racket sports, you do not have to take a week off just because you are sightseeing. Sopot has easy court rental for tennis; for padel, the best clearly documented options we found are in Gdańsk and Gdynia.

🎾 Renting a tennis court in Sopot

The easiest current option to explain to foreign visitors is Sopocki Klub Tenisowy close to central Sopot.

Sopocki Klub Tenisowy

The club currently lists 14 outdoor clay courts and 4 indoor tennis courts, so tennis can work even outside peak summer weather.

Open daily 07:00–22:00Outdoor clayIndoor availableRacket rental
80 PLN/houtdoor courts 7–13
100 PLN/houtdoor courts 4–6
20 PLNtennis racket rental
2026 summer reference: these outdoor prices apply 1 May–31 August 2026. A one-hour private lesson is currently 150 PLN + court for one player, or 170 PLN + court for two.

Good for children too

The club runs children's and youth training, so if your child wants more than a casual parent-child hit, ask whether a one-off coach slot is available during your stay.

Holiday recommendation: if your child already plays, simply rent a court and racket. If they are a complete beginner, one coach hour is much more likely to be fun than trying to teach them yourself on holiday.

🏓 Where to play padel with kids

There is no need for the child to be an experienced tennis player. For beginners, a coach or intro session is the easiest first contact.

Padbox Gdańsk

Two Gdańsk centres — Stadion and Kartuska — with 10 courts in total. Court rental, coaching and cheap racket rental make this a very easy tourist option.

Kids: Padel Gdańsk uses Padbox as its base and currently runs an academy in age groups 6–9, U12, U14, U16 and U18.

Gdynia Padel Club

A second strong option, especially if your Gdynia day already includes Experyment, the aquarium or the waterfront. The club has both indoor and outdoor courts and rents equipment on site.

The club also offers individual coaching. This is useful if a parent and older child want a one-off introduction rather than enrolling in regular classes.

Tennis or padel for a holiday?

If you are choosing rather than continuing an existing sport, we would usually pick padel for older children.

🎾 Choose tennis if…

  • your child already plays tennis
  • you are staying in Sopot and want zero extra travel
  • you want a classic clay-court experience
  • you need an indoor backup but still want tennis

🏓 Choose padel if…

  • the family wants to play together
  • the child is roughly 8+ and enjoys ball sports
  • you are beginners and want quick rallies
  • four family members want an easy doubles activity
Our age rule for personalization: although padel academies accept younger children, we rank a casual holiday padel session most strongly for roughly ages 8–16. For a 6-year-old beginner, a proper child lesson is a better recommendation than simply renting a court for the family.
